Howdy, I’m Cole! There were times in school when I felt lost and confused studying math, and in college I even considered changing my major as a result. But my most impactful tutors and professors gave me the confidence to succeed and, more importantly, reminded me that I was smart and had it within me to learn the material presented. I’m grateful for them, and my hope is to work together to help you feel not only like you are surviving, but thriving in your subject. My approach is to structure sessions with a short lesson followed up with practice problems and homework assistance, but I recognize that my students know themselves better than anyone and always welcome any additional resources or suggestions. I would also like to do an initial learning style assessment so that I can best tailor our sessions to most effectively meet your specific learning approach. I have 2 years’ experience tutoring high school and middle school students in math, working with 1 student for that entire time period. I think it’s always important to first make sure that I am a good match for my students and that I am the best person to help you succeed, prior to any commitment. As a result, I like to have a phone conversation and an initial free in-person consultation prior to getting started. During those consultations, we’ll discuss your specific goals and where we would like to be by the end of our tutoring sessions. Additionally, I feel confident in providing tutoring support in some college level courses such as Calculus, Linear Algebra, and Statics and Dynamics. I believe that anyone can learn these topics with the right amount of time and commitment, and we’ll do a lot of practice and take the time to make sure you feel confident in the material.
