I am very passionate about young people learning to write, read and speak well. I have worked as a newspaper reporter and copy editor. I also have been a free-lancer writer for many years and have taught college-level writing. I have had the full 30 credit hours of education courses required for teaching. I have also worked at Fairfax Collegiate, teaching writing to small groups. I also have worked for many years as a children and youth minister at a local church so I have a good understanding of the issues faced by Northern Virginia young people. I have had three graduate level public speaking courses and I continue to speak regularly to groups and congregations.
